Your pharmacy plan gives you access to a broad network of retail pharmacies nationwide, including CVS, Rite Aid, Sam's Club, and Walmart; regional chain pharmacies such as Giant Eagle, GIANT, MARTIN'S, and Wegmans; plus hundreds of independent pharmacies.

Flex cards may be filled to cover the cost of out-of-pocket health and wellness needs, like groceries, over-the-counter needs, and meals. Flex cards are especially helpful for seniors with low incomes and resources, who can benefit significantly from grocery and meal benefits.

A: There are many retailers, such as Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS, that can distinguish an eligible expense from an ineligible expense. If you receive services from any of these retailers, you may use the flex debit card for any eligible expenses.

A Medicare flex card is a preloaded debit card offered by some Medicare Advantage plans that members can use for certain expenses like over-the-counter health items, assistive devices and utilities. Although flex cards for seniors are associated with Medicare, they're not provided by the government.

Can I buy coffee with my OTC card? ›

Items that do not qualify include non-food and pet items, alcohol, baby formula, candy, chips, coffee shop items, desserts, fresh baked goods, soda, and tobacco. To check if an item is approved, members can download the Healthy Benefits Plus app, scan the product and it will advise if item is allowable.

Level A pharmacies, also known as Preferred pharmacies, offer lower copays than Level B pharmacies. You will pay $0 for Tier 1 medications, which include most generic prescriptions. Preferred pharmacies include: CVS Pharmacy.
