Size

216 acres, located adjacent to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFW) National Wildlife Refuge and access trail to Dungeness Spit.

Picnicking & Park Amenities

Numerous day-use picnic tables with fire pits and benches spread around the park, and a playground in Loop 2.

Trails

1-mile long scenic bluff trail; several miles of hiking/biking trails; designated equestrian trail.

Campsites

  • 66 forested campsites arranged in two loops (no utility hook-ups; six people per single campsite C.C.C. 23.03.040)
  • First come, first serve sites Number 1 to 24; Reservable sites Number 25 to 66
  • Eight first come, first serve Hiker/Biker campsites (Number A to Number H; one person per site C.C.C. 23.03.040)
  • Two ADA-accessible campsites (Number 17, Number 60)
  • One Group Campsite Reservable

Parking

  • For Dungeness Recreation Area County Park users, there are several Day-Use parking lots and an ADA-accessible restroom available year-round.
  • Day-Use Note: Dungeness Spit and Wildlife Refuge visitors must use the northern USFW parking lot.
  • If the USFW parking lot is full, come back when spots are available.
  • An entrance fee is required to access the USFW Dungeness Spit National Wildlife Refuge.

Bathrooms

Two fully ADA-accessible restrooms, with coin-operated showers, are available from May through October. One fully ADA-accessible restroom is available from November through April. Water faucets can be found throughout the Park, with limited access from October through April due to winterization.

  • No alcoholic beverages or marijuana allowed in the park per State laws. (RCW 66.44.100 and RCW.69.50.445)
  • Pets must remain on a leash, no longer than eight feet, at all times. Pet handlers must properly dispose of pet waste in a dumpster. (C.C.C. 23.03.070)
  • Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to camp overnight. (C.C.C. 23.03.040)

Gate Hours

  • May through September: 6 am to 10 pm
  • October through April: 7 am to 9 pm
  • Late Arrivals: If a registered camper arrives after hours, park in the lot near the gate and walk to the campsite.

First Come, First Serve Camping Information

Information & Fee Envelopes

  • First come, first serve camping is done via self registration at the park.
  • Information and fee envelopes available at fee station located at entrance of park.
  • Locate and occupy empty first come, first serve campsite (Number 1- Number 24). Return to fee station immediately to register, fill out fee envelope and close proper fee. Remove the camping receipt off fee envelope and place on vehicle dashboard. Deposit the fee envelope into fee box.

Payment

  • First come, first serve payment must be cash or money order. No Credit Cards or Canadian checks, currency, or coins.
  • Payment can be one night at a time, or for the entire stay. No refunds are available.
